Co-founder Maggie Ellis, WFR
Maggie's
love for the outdoors stems from growing up hiking and camping in Maine.
She attended Prescott College in Arizona and graduated with a BA in
Peace and Environmental Studies. While living there she worked
as an Events Coordinator for the Master of Arts Program at her college,
was the director of a non-profit program, and worked for the Adventure
Education program at the YMCA. After designing and leading a women's
kayaking and yoga trip on the Colorado River, she found her passion
for leading women's groups in the wilderness. After four years of being
spoiled by the AZ sun, she headed east for a post graduation hike. For
two months she hiked the southern third of the Appalachian Trail. She landed in Olympia three years ago and
tour manages the Canadian urban roots band, Po' Girl.
Maggie's adventurous soul and connection to nature gives her
a sense of calm and strength as a woman.
