Day Hike to Mt Rainier

Who is this trip for?

This hike is for those who want to day hike and perhaps meet some future hiking friends!

6 people maximum

What kind of activities will we be doing?

Leann will guide this 8 mile round trip hike up Gobbler's Knob Trail to a fire tower. Here we'll rest, have lunch and gaze at the amazing views. Leann will do some native plant ID on the hike.

What is the fitness level of this course?

Active. We want our trips to be inclusive to all types of women who enjoy the outdoors - this will be a non competitive atmosphere. This hike will include some elevation gain (1,400 feet) and is rated as easy - moderate.

Where are we going and how will we get there?

Hikers will meet at Olympic Outfitters at 6 AM and ride in a Women Who Wander van to Mt Rainier National Park. The hike will go past Lake George and up to Gobblers Knob. The drive is about 2.5 hours and the hike is about 6 hours. We'll return early evening.

What do I need to bring?

Day pack with your essentials - small backpack with water (2 quarts), lunch, bug spray, warm layers, bandana, camera, binoculars, notebook and pen.

What will Women Who Wander supply?

We'll provide the transportation, parking pass, native plant ID on the hike, and first aid kit. We will have sparkling water, cheese, crackers and local, seasonal fruit at the end of the hike.

Payment Schedule and Cancellation Policy

Registration must happen at least by the 25th to ensure space in the van.

Full payment is due when we meet on the 26th.

Cancellations Prior to Trip

Please give us 24 hours notice for cancellation as to accomadate people on the waitlist.

We will email or send you a registration packet. Please fill out registration and health form, including a liability waiver and return to us on the day of the hike.

Cash and checks are accepted. Checks can be made out to Women Who Wander LLC
